In this course, you will study published applied research papers and learn how to use academic writing to communicate your work. You will learn how to conduct literature surveys by searching for previous work and summarizing the "state of the art" for a specific topic. You will also learn about the structure of academic articles and the development of research proposals.

CM801: Doctoral Writing and Research
This course prepares you, as a doctoral student in any discipline, for the rigorous demands of graduate-level communication and ethical scholarship, equipping you to contribute original knowledge within your field of expertise. You will develop advanced academic writing skills, refine your academic research processes, and increase your fluency with APA professional citation practices. You will select, validate, and synthesize qualitative and quantitative source information. By the end of the course, through critical engagement and analysis of discipline-specific research, you will design a literature review that prepares you for doctoral project development and future publication.
